Played all Soulsbournekiro games and love them. Came into this expecting next to nothing and got less at times. The game is so close to being great but has insane balance issues and most difficulty feels kind of artificial especially on NG+. Early game gives little room to be creative and start builds before getting brickwalled by bosses that can one shot you at any given moment. Almost every enemy in the game can one shot you or has a 12 hit combo, usually both.

I've beaten the game about 4 times now, NG twice and NG+ twice, and you either borderline invalidate the game with certain builds and weapons or just die to the camera getting stuck in the wall and other fun shenanigans. In terms of side quests they either add almost nothing to the game or have such strange prerequisites that you almost will always fail to get the best outcome.

Last third of the game is just generally not fun, even if you blow through it it has no real satisfaction and just feels like elongated mazes connecting bosses with each other. Where Sekiro shined in making you feel like all your work you put into your skills and ability to play the game, Lies of P just feels so unbalanced in every respect. Sometimes you'll play the best attempt on a boss in your life and die to a 14 hit combo spammed 3 times in a row or just body them with fable arts.

Complaints aside it can be fun, feels very polished in places and the weapon customization is the highlight of the game. Worth a play once it goes on sale and you're fiending for something with a new take on the Souls formula.
